What You Need To Know


There is some information that you need to know while planning your floral budget. One of the things you need to understand is that flowers are expensive, especially in Utah. Many people if they could, would try and do the flowers themselves to save money. The problem is, is that working with flowers and arranging them are much more difficult than they appear. That is why brides hire people like me who have training in treating and arranging flowers. So not only are you paying for the flowers, but you are paying for the expertise that a professional has in the areas of the care and the arranging of the flowers. There are other costs as well that you need to expect when planning your floral budget. With most florists, there is an initial deposit. Our initial deposit is a non-refundable $100. This initial $100 is to hold the date of your wedding. There are other costs such as delivery charges and set up fees, as well as rental charges and deposits. 50% of the total flower amount is due 30 days prior to the wedding and the final 50% is due 5-7 days prior to the wedding. If you cancel the wedding prior to the 14 days, all the money except the initial $100 will be refunded. If you cancel after the 14 days, no money will be refunded. There may also be delivery and set up fees. Delivery charges can be $10 to $35, depending on where the wedding is located. If you need me to set up for the wedding, set up charges start at $25 — $150 depending on how long you need my assistance.

During the free initial consultation, I can give you a rough estimate of the cost of flowers, however, in order to get a more accurate cost I will need to know the type of flowers you request, the containers, and the number of arrangements you need.

Planning a wedding is stressful, but it can also be a lot of fun. Be creative, do research, and ask questions. Not only am I hear to help you with your flowers but I can help achieve the look you are going for with many different details that will make your wedding unique.

If you are looking for ways to save money but not sacrifice on style there are a few things to consider; first you need to consider the container the flowers are going to be in. Containers can be very expensive. Look for ways to lower your cost by finding inexpensive containers like mason jars or terracotta pots, both of which you can personalize by adding a few unique touches. If you do decide on a more expensive container, consider renting items from us. There will be a rental deposit that will be refunded once all the items arereturned. The other thing to consider is the flowers themselves. Buying a certain flower out of season can be very expensive and there are certain flowers like hydrangeas that are expensive all year round. Also consider using larger flowers that take up more space. Using a one sunflower can take up the same amount of space of three of four smaller flowers.
